I am a reporter in New York City.

I currently do research and check facts in the editorial department at The New York Times. Prior to that, I covered city politics and government for Crain’s New York Business. My recent work focused on issues of construction safety and immigration. I previously covered neighborhood news at DNAinfo, where I published a series of stories on medical care at city jails. I have also written for The Nation and VICE, among others.

At CUNY’s Graduate School of Journalism, I received the Dennis Duggan Prize for coverage of “ordinary or disenfranchised New Yorkers” and the Sidney Hillman Foundation Award for Social Justice Reporting.

I keep my best stories catalogued on Contently.
