I report for DNAinfo.com in New York, breaking stories like Scientology in public schools, syphilis in Chelsea and medical failures in the city’s jails. I have also written for The Nation, VICE, City Limits and others. I like covering regular people and figuring out how things work.
At CUNY’s Graduate School of Journalism, I received the Dennis Duggan Prize for coverage of “ordinary or disenfranchised New Yorkers” and the Sidney Hillman Foundation Award for Social Justice Reporting. My thesis project at CUNY, backed by the Journalism Center on Children & Families and the Nation Institute’s Investigative Fund, was a finalist for awards from Investigative Reporters & Editors and the Society of Professional Journalists.
